A free speech, language and hearing screening is being offered Jan. 12 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Speech and Hearing Clinic at 1199 Haley Center. The screening is offered to all ages and assesses:

  • Articulation, or pronouncing sounds
  • Receptive language, or understanding concepts and spoken language
  • Expressive language, or ability to express self in words
  • Cognitive skills, or attention, memory and problem solving
  • Voice quality and fatigue
  • Fluency, or stuttering
  • Accent reduction options
  • Hearing

This screening is sponsored by the National Student Speech Language and Hearing Association, or NSSLHA, and the Student Academy of Audiology, or SAA, two student groups in the Department of Communication Disorders. For more information, call 844-9600.
