Brigitta Brunner, professor of public relations in the College of Liberal Arts, was recognized recently by the public relations divisions of the National Communicators Association for her edited book, "The Moral Compass of Public Relations." She received the PRIDE Book Award for Outstanding Innovation, Development and Educational Achievements in Public Relations.

Brunner is the inaugural editor of the University of Florida’s new scholarly publication, Journal of Public Interest Communications. She has previously served as a research fellow with the Imagining America Engaged Undergraduate Research Group, College of Liberal Arts engaged scholar, an Auburn University provost’s fellow, a fellow in the Southeastern Conference Academic Leadership Development Program and a fellow in the Journalism and Mass Communication Leadership in Diversity program sponsored by the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication, or AEJMC.

Brunner was named Educator of the Year by the Public Relations Council of Alabama in April 2013. She was also honored by the AEJMC’s public relations division in August 2013 with a Professional Freedom and Responsibility Outreach Award.

She has been on faculty at Auburn since 2002 and teaches public relations courses at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. Read more information about Brunner here.
