Notice body

Mammogram Day is set for Tuesday, Jan. 23, from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The program is available for employees and spouses covered under Auburn's Blue Cross Blue Shield, or BCBS, health insurance plan.

Eligible participants must be 35 years old or older who have never had a mammogram or have not had a mammogram within the past year. These are not recommended for participants who have implants. Appointments are available on a first-come, first-served basis. We encourage all those who have already scheduled their yearly mammogram to keep their appointment and allow these spaces to be used by those who are overdue. Time off will be allowed for the initial exam and, if needed, the first round of additional testing. If further testing is recommended, the employee will be required to use their sick leave.

To make an appointment, call the East Alabama Medical Center Scheduling Department at 334-528-1215 and let the scheduler know you are registering for the AU Mammogram Day. Please prepared to provide your name, date of birth, insurance information and doctor's name (who will be receiving the report). Please note that if the mammogram detects a possible problem and additional tests are required, employees will be required to pay the co-pay and deductibles related to the additional testing.

Registration for appointments is available now. Mammograms will be done at Auburn Diagnostic Imaging, 1527 Professional Parkway. If you need any additional information, contact Jenny Swaim.
