Ending the Auburn University Libraries’ fall 2017 Discover Auburn Lecture Series’ tribute to 125 Years of Women at Auburn is author and columnist Rheta Grimsley Johnson. Her presentation,“You Gotta Know When to Fold ‘Em,” will be presented in the Caroline Marshall Draughon Auditorium on the ground floor of the Ralph Brown Draughon Library on Tuesday, Nov. 14, at 3 p.m.

Rheta Grimsley Johnson began her journalistic career at The Auburn Plainsman, graduating in 1977. She has written more than 6,000 articles and seven books. She was awarded the National Headliner Award for commentary in 1985 and Scripps Howard’s Ernie Pyle Memorial Award for outstanding human interest reporting in 1984. In 2010 she received the Clarence Cason Award in nonfiction writing from the University of Alabama’s journalism department.

The program is open to the public and a reception will follow the lecture.
