Notice body

Auburn University Employees have until Nov. 30 at 4:45 p.m. to participate in Open Enrollment for 2018 benefits.

During Open Enrollment, Auburn University and Auburn Montgomery employees may enroll in, cancel, or make changes to their benefits elections. IRS regulations do not allow for Plan enrollment beyond this Thursday at 4:45 p.m., unless there is a qualifying event during the year.

For employees who are currently enrolled in health, dental, vision and cancer insurance and who do not want to make any changes to their coverages, there is nothing they need to do to continue these benefits. No action on their part will be deemed to represent their wish for their elections to carry over into 2018. However, if currently enrolled in the Flexible Spending Account, they must re-enroll or their FSA contributions will end as of Dec. 31. Auburn University offers a Carryover Provision, allowing employees to carry over up to $500 of unused Medical Spending Account funds into the next plan year.

Additional information about changes for 2018 is available online and in the benefits packet that employees recently received in campus mail.
