The Cross Cultural Center for Excellence, a unit of the Office of Inclusion and Diversity, will host the Medicine Tail Singers to celebrate Native American heritage month at Auburn University. The Medicine Tail singers are a traveling dance troupe that hails from many different southeastern Native American tribes including: Poarch Band of Creek Indians; Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians; MOWA Band of Choctaw Indians; Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana; and the United Houma Nation of Louisiana. There will be two performances on Nov. 29. The first performance will begin at noon in Room 2107, Student Center and the second performance will begin at 3 p.m. in the same room. Attendees will experience many traditional Northern and Southern singing and dance styles including:

− Women's southern traditional, jingle and fancy shawl

− Men's traditional, chicken, grass and fancy feather

− Hoop dance exhibition

− Native flute demonstration
