The Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art is hosting its first Community Day on Thursday, Dec. 7, from 5-8 p.m. This year’s theme celebrates diversity in the Auburn community. Attendees can take a focused look at a single piece of artwork during “A Little Art Talk” at 5 p.m.; create vellum paper lanterns about the community during our drop-in studio from 5-8 p.m.; enjoy music and other performances by local musicians and artists; and have conversations over cookies, hot chocolate and cider. Partners for the event include the Auburn Heritage Association, Auburn Pointe School of Dance, Boys and Girls Clubs, Congregation Beth Shalom, COSAM Diversity Ambassadors from the College of Sciences and Mathematics, LocAL Market and Ursula’s Catering. Advance registration online is encouraged. The Jule Collins Smith Museum is located at 901 S. College St.
