By the end of December, members of the Auburn University health insurance plan will receive new cards from Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Alabama.

Each card will include the new three-character alpha prefix, QAU, in the first three positions of the member's ID card. However, the nine numbers following the prefix will remain the same.

Beginning on Jan. 1, plan members must use the new cards as the current cards become invalid on that date.

Visit the Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Alabama website for more information on ordering additional cards. Dental cards will not change.

As a reminder, open enrollment for 2018 benefits continues until Nov. 30 at 4:45 p.m. During this time, AU employees may enroll in, cancel or make changes to their benefits elections. IRS regulations do not allow for plan enrollment beyond Nov. 30, unless there is a qualifying event during the year.

Employees are encouraged to review the benefits packet that they recently received in campus mail, or visit the website for information on 2018 benefits and premiums.
