Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art announces a presale of their 2018 publication, "Audubon’s Last Wilderness Journey: The Viviparous Quadrupeds of North America." This book, which features the 150 hand-colored lithographs of the museum’s Imperial Folio from the Louise Hauss and David Brent Miller Audubon Collection, has essays that cover this seminal journey, the production of the folio, questions of zoological classifications—then and now—as well as a timeline. Suggested Retail $59.95, orders may be placed online and onsite in the Museum Shop through Jan. 31 for $49.95 (plus free shipping). Books will arrive at the end of February. The museum joined with D Giles Limited of London, U.K. to produce the publication. Contributors include Ron Tyler, noted Audubon scholar and retired director of the Amon Carter Museum of American Art, Jule Collins Smith Museum curator of collections and exhibitions Dennis Harper, Audubon scholar Daniel Patterson, and essays by Sarah Zohdy, Robert Gitzen and Jim Armstrong, and Chris Lepczyck from Auburn’s Department of Wildlife Sciences.
