The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, or OLLI, is hosting Marilyn Laufer, director of Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art, or JCSM, for her lecture “Thinking About What If: JCSM in the Future. What are the issues that face museums today and what things do we need to provide as a museum in the 21st century?” as part of its Wisdom Wednesdays lecture series. The event will take place at noon Nov. 1 at the Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art, 901 S. College St. Laufer has served as the director of JCSM for more than a decade. Prior to this appointment, Laufer taught art history for the university. Laufer and her staff have received full accreditation for the museum, and through the generosity of donors and with successful programs, such as the 1072 Society, they have doubled the size of the museum’s fine art collection. For more information on Laufer, visit the museum website.
