Biggio Center Instructional Technology, formerly IMG, will offer a three-part Canvas workshop series throughout the fall 2017 semester. The first workshop, Canvas: Get Organized, will be held on Aug. 31. This introductory Canvas workshop will cover Canvas basics, such as how to organize your course with modules and set up the gradebook. The second workshop, Canvas: Assessment and Feedback, will be held Sept. 21. This workshop will explore the technical features available in Canvas for quizzing, such as how to use question banks to create a comprehensive practice quiz, and how to use the feedback tool built into the Quiz tool to provide feedback to students per question or per answer. The final workshop, Canvas: Rubrics and Peer Evaluation, will be held Oct. 19 and will cover how to attach rubrics to assignments, use SpeedGrader to grade student submissions and use the same rubric for an assignment featuring the Peer Review tool in Canvas. These workshops provide the opportunity to learn the platform’s capabilities from instructional technology specialists in the new Mell Classroom Building @ RBD Library. To learn more and register for one or all workshops, visit the Biggio Center website.
