Abbi Brown recently joined Auburn University Human Resources as the director of student and temporary staffing services.  Brown holds the certification of Society for Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional, or SHRM-SCP.

Brown is an alumna of Auburn University and has more than 10 years of HR experience. She comes to Auburn from Goodwill Industries of the Southern Rivers where she was the manager of people services, or HR. She has also served as a staffing agent with Randstand USA. She began her appointment at Auburn on May 15.

“Abbi brings a passion for talent acquisition and organizational strategic planning that will be valuable to Auburn as we assess our temporary services and as we begin to build a student employment program here in human resources,” said Karla McCormick, associate vice president of HR. “We are very excited to have Abbi onboard and know she will be able to do great things for Auburn.”

In her spare time, Brown enjoys reading and spending time with her family.  She and her husband, Dane, have one daughter, Reese.

“To say that I am excited to be working at Auburn University is an understatement,” Brown said. “My father graduated from Auburn in the ’70s and I graduated in ’06. It is an honor to be able to provide support to the university that has given my family so much joy.”

Brown will soon meet with student employment and temporary employment stakeholders on campus to gain a greater understanding of the university’s needs.
