Six Auburn University students took home multiple awards at the Southeastern Regional National Association of Teachers of Singing, or SERNATS auditions at Georgia State University on March 24–25.

The annual competition is sponsored by the Southeastern Region of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, or NATS, and includes singers from all collegiate voice programs from Alabama, Florida and Georgia.

Auburn’s winners are: tenor Eliott Player (finalist, freshmen musical theater men), soprano Grace Moody (finalist, sophomore musical theater women), baritone Philip McCown (finalist, sophomore musical theater men), soprano Patty Holley (2nd place, junior musical theater women and finalist, junior classical women), tenor Jacob Verhine (3rd place, sophomore musical theater men) and mezzo-soprano Patrisha Matthews (finalist, junior musical theater women).

Each of these six students is now eligible to advance to the preliminary round of National Student Auditions, which will be held this summer at the University of Colorado in Boulder.
