The Women’s Studies Program is presenting a faculty panel discussion titled “Women, Gender and Social Justice” Wednesday, March 8 at 3:30 p.m. in the Student Center ballroom. Featured faculty includes Mitchell Brown from the Department of Political Science, Valentina Hartarska from the Department of Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology and Megan Haselschwerdt from the Department of Human Development and Family Studies. They will be discussing their current research emphases including social justice issues related to elections and election administration; female leadership, microfinance and poverty; and domestic violence, exposure to domestic violence, help-seeking and legal reporting experiences. There will be a question-and-answer session after the panelists’ presentations. Refreshments will be served, and the event is free and open to the public. The event is organized and chaired by Paula Backscheider, the Philpott-Stevens Eminent Scholar in the College of Liberal Arts.
