Edwin C. Bridges, who served as director of the Alabama Department of Archives and History for 30 years, will present a two-day seminar on Alabama history to members of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Auburn University, or OLLI at Auburn, on March 30-31.

OLLI at Auburn and the Caroline Marshall Draughon Center for the Arts and Humanities are sponsoring this event as part of the celebration of the Alabama Bicentennial celebration.

The seminar will be based on Bridges’ recent book “Alabama: The Making of an American State.” The book will be used in Alabama schools to teach about the upcoming Alabama Centennial.

The seminar sessions will be from 9 a.m. until noon each day in the annex at Pebble Hill, 101 S. Debardeleben St. in Auburn.

Enrollment is limited. Non-OLLI members have time to join in time for the seminar with a $25 fee. Copies of the book are available for $15, cash only, at Pebble Hill and from OLLI at Auburn.

To register, call 844-5165 or email olli@auburn.edu.
