Notice body

To prepare for work beginning in May, the Jule Collins Smith Museum is temporarily closing the Louise Hauss and David Brent Miller Audubon Galleries, the Noel and Kathryn Dickinson Wadsworth Gallery and the Chi-Omega-Hargis Gallery on April 17. These galleries house permanent collection objects. The exhibition, "Jiha Moon: Double Welcome, Most Everyone's Mad Here" is still on view through April 30 in the Bill L. Harbert Gallery and Gallery C. Beginning May 8, all public spaces will be closed, with contractors renovating collections storage areas to accommodate current holdings and plan for future growth, as well as addressing acoustic, lighting and temperature concerns in the Grand Gallery, Rotunda, Dwight and Helen Carlisle Lobby and Museum Café. The Lethander Art Path and Susan Phillips Gardens on the museum grounds will remain accessible to the public during the project. Visit the museum's FAQ page online for more information.
