Anne Saunders, a second-year student in the Harrison School of Pharmacy, was recently selected to the National Community Pharmacists Association, or NCPA, National Student Leadership Council. Saunders, a native of Montgomery, is one of 16 students nationwide selected for the council. The council exists to represent pharmacy student members of the association. Among its purposes are to promote the profession of pharmacy, promote the role of independent community pharmacy and encourage communication between NCPA student chapters and the NCPA Department of Student Affairs. A main goal of the council is to support the development of future leaders in community pharmacy and to recognize student pharmacists who have a strong interest in entrepreneurship and pursuing a career in independent pharmacy.
