The community is invited to participate in Alabama Extension's BioBlitz, a hands-on, citizen science event to promote interest in local biodiversity. People will have the opportunity to work in the forest alongside scientists from Auburn University and the local area while discovering the diversity of insects, fish, fungi, plants, mammals, herpetofauna, birds and bats. The BioBlitz will be hosted at the Kreher Preserve and Nature Center located at 2222 N. College St., Auburn, Saturday, April 1, from 7 a.m.-9 p.m. This come-and-go event is open to anyone who loves nature and learning about the natural world. All are invited to attend, including students, teachers and families. The cost is $5 per person for all participants 10 years old and up. Registration is encouraged, but not required.
