Auburn University’s Office of Student Involvement will host its 15th annual Big Event, a student-led service project, on Saturday, March 4 throughout the Auburn and Opelika communities.

The Big Event has served as an opportunity for Auburn University students to give back to the Auburn and Opelika communities by performing basic community service tasks for households, businesses, churches and organizations as a way of saying thank you for making Auburn a great community to live in. This year, the project will include more than 190 job sites and an expected 2,000 participants. The event will begin on Saturday at 8 a.m. on the Campus Green with a kickoff speaker, team registration and free Chick-fil-a biscuits for all participants. Starting at 9 a.m. the teams will head to their respective job sites where they will work for two to three hours.

The deadline to register is Wednesday, March 1. Students can sign up as part of an on-campus organization, as a team member of a pre-created group or as an individual who will be randomly placed on a team. Students can also start a group as a team captain. Signups can be found at Contact Big Event President Caroline Parrish at with questions.
