Notice body

Auburn University's Mammogram Day is set for Tuesday, Jan. 17, from 7:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. The program is available for employees and spouses covered under the Auburn University Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance plan. Those who are eligible include participants 35 years or older who have never had a mammogram or individuals 35 years or older who have not had a mammogram in the last year. This is not recommended for those who have implants. Spots are available, by appointment, on a first-come-first-serve basis. Those who have already scheduled their yearly mammogram are encouraged to keep their appointment and allow these spaces to be used by those who are overdue. Time off will be allowed for the initial exam and if needed, the first round of additional testing. If further testing is recommended, the employee will be required to use their sick leave.

To make an appointment, contact Karen Calton, EAMC Breast Health Navigator at karen.calton@eamc.org. Karen will call each person who emails her as soon as she can. There will be no need to call her. In your email to her, provide a phone number that she can reach you and indicate you are participating in Auburn University’s Mammogram Day program. Have available the following information: BCBS contract number, date of birth, date of last mammogram and the policyholder's name. Please note that if the mammogram detects a possible problem and additional tests are required, employees will be required to pay the co-pay and deductibles related to the additional testing. Mammograms will be done at Auburn Diagnostic, 1527 Professional Parkway. If you need any additional information, contact Jenny Swaim swaimje@auburn.edu
