Notice body

The new Mell Classroom Building will open next fall with 29 Engaged Active Student Learning, or EASL, classrooms (featuring modern design, state-of-the-art technology, modular furniture and writeable surfaces) as well as two large lecture classrooms.

Priority scheduling for these teaching spaces will go to faculty who have participated in active learning training and development opportunities.

On Friday, Jan. 6, the Biggio Center will offer a three hour workshop that will qualify faculty members to go on the priority list for the new classrooms. Participants can opt for a workshop on active learning in a traditional EASL room or active learning in a large lecture format. Lunch will be provided as well as coffee and light refreshments in the morning and plenty of opportunities to interact with colleagues from across campus.

Registration is available online and should be done by Tuesday, Jan. 3 to ensure your lunch order.
