The College of Liberal Arts congratulates Jeremy Samolesky, an associate professor of piano in the Department of Music, for being awarded the American Prize in Solo Piano Performance for 2016. Known for his passion for both solo and collaborative performances, Samolesky has appeared in concert as a solo and chamber pianist throughout North America, South America, Europe and Asia. Many of his students at Auburn receive prestigious scholarships and assistantships for graduate music programs nationwide, and in 2012 he received Auburn’s “Excellence in Teaching” award.

Samolesky is the second Auburn representative to win an American Prize competition—after Howard Goldstein, who won third place in Community Orchestras and first in Music Education in 2010. A complete list of American Prize winners is online. For more information on Samolesky, go to his personal page.
