David Held of the Academic Standards Committee gave a report on the findings of a plus/minus grading system. The committee’s final recommendation is for Auburn to continue using the current, whole-letter grading system in place. Committee support for the decision is 100 percent. The Auburn University Senate at its meeting Tuesday approved Professor Robert Boyd of Biological Sciences as the replacement for the College of Sciences and Mathematics representative on the University Curriculum Committee. No other action items were on the agenda.

Other presenters included George Flowers, dean of the Graduate School, and Kimberly Braxton-Lloyd, assistant dean for health services and associate professor in the Harrison School of Pharmacy.

This was the final senate meeting for 2016. The next meeting is scheduled for Jan. 17.
