The 2016 SEC Professor of the Year, Isaiah Warner, will present scientific and general lectures at Auburn University Oct. 27-28. Warner is vice president for strategic initiatives at Louisiana State University, as well as the Boyd professor, the Phillip W. West professor and the Howard Hughes Medical Institute professor. Warner is the recipient of the 2013 American Chemical Society Award in Analytical Chemistry, the 2014 Stanley C. Israel Award of the ACS for Advancing Diversity in Chemical Sciences, the 2000 Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, CASE Louisiana Professor of the Year Award for undergraduate teaching and numerous other honors from universities and professional societies for his scientific and educational achievements.

He will deliver a chemistry and biochemistry colloquium entitled ‘Analytical Strategies Using GUMBOS Technology’ on Thursday, Oct. 27, at 3:45 p.m. in 115 Sciences Center Classroom. His address to the Auburn student chapter of the national organization for the Professional Advancement of Black Chemists and Chemical Engineers will begin at 4 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 28, in 151 Chemistry Building.
