The Fostering Interdisciplinary Learning through Movies, or FILM@JCSM, program for the 2016 fall semester will feature the work of artists in Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art's first video art exhibition, Camera Lucida. Video artist Jillian Mayer will begin the program at the museum Sept. 8, at 5 p.m. Guests will be able to view Mayer's work, as well as participate in a discussion with her. Mayer is an artist and filmmaker who creates work that explores how technology affects our identities, lives and experiences. Through videos, online experiences, photography, telephone numbers, performance, paintings, sculpture and installation, her work investigates the tension between physical and digital iterations of identity and existence. Her video works and performances have been premiered at galleries and museums internationally. For more information about FILM@JCSM, or to view excerpts of Mayer's work, visit the museum's website
