The Discover Auburn Lecture Series program will feature Todd Steury and “Black Bears in Alabama” on Thursday, Sept. 29, at 3 p.m. The lecture will take place in the Caroline Marshall Draughon Auditorium on the ground floor of the Ralph Brown Draughon Library. A reception will follow the program. Steury, associate professor in Auburn University’s School of Forestry and Wildlife Sciences, will discuss his project estimating population size of black bears in Alabama. Steury studies populations of black bears in Mobile County in the south and in Little River Canyon National Preserve in northeast Alabama.
