The Multicultural Center is hosting a presentation by Southern Poverty Law Center fellow, economic justice advocate and Auburn graduate Sara Wood. Wood will discuss the criminalization of povery in the Deep South. The discussion will delve into how poor people in America today are not only facing an economic gap – they’re also facing a justice gap. Too often, poor people are exploited, abused and stigmatized for simply being poor. The event, being held in conjunction with the Common Book Program, will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 22 in 2107 Student Center. Light refreshments will be served.
