The Office of Risk Management and Human Resource Development will offer a course on the principles of university contracting and risk transfer on Tuesday, June 14, from 1:30-4:30 p.m. in 1204B Human Resource Development Training Facility located at 1550 E. Glenn Ave. This class will teach participants the fundamental principles behind contract formation with an emphasis on how Auburn University’s status as a government entity influences many of the contract’s important terms. Participants will learn the value of utilizing contracts to transfer risk of loss away from the university and will recognize how to mitigate remaining risk by conforming to appropriate third party insurance requirements.

Once completed, course participants will be better prepared to act as facilitators in the contracting process and will understand the boundaries of authority dictated by Auburn University’s Signature Authority Policy. The course will be presented by Procurement Contract Officer, Courtney Raville and University Risk Manager, Melissa Agresta. Interested participants should register through Fast-Train in AU Access. For questions concerning registration, contact Penny Houston at pdh0007@auburn.edu.
