The subject of this week's Take 5 on the Auburn University homepage is Leonard "Len" Vining, special projects coordinator at the Graduate School. Vining initiates programs that help international students attending Auburn's Graduate School have a cross-cultural experience and better understand the American lifestyle. He has pioneered and partnered with 10 different projects to date. Vining received his doctorate in fisheries from the College of Agriculture in 1996. He served as the training director for the International Center for Aquaculture and Aquatic Environments before joining a mission organization and serving for five years. Serving abroad with the mission organization sparked a keen interest in Vining for working with international students and developing social programs to better integrate them into American student life at Auburn University.
