The subject of this week's Take 5 on the Auburn University homepage is Kasey Cooper, a Dothan native who plays third base for the Auburn Softball Team. Cooper is a junior majoring in mechanical engineering. She was inducted into the National Society of Collegiate Scholars in 2014 as well as the Golden Key International Honor Society for being in the top 15 percent of her class after her freshman year. One of her greatest moments came during the Texas A&M series in 2014, when the walk-off win put the team in the SEC Tournament. Cooper became the first Auburn player to be named an All-American in her first two collegiate seasons and was also named a CoSIDA Academic All-American last season. In January, Cooper was selected to be on the USA Women's National Team and will represent the United States this summer in the World Cup of Softball XI, the WX World Baseball Softball Confederation Women's World Championship in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada, and the Japan Cup. She is currently Auburn's all-time RBI leader.
