The community is invited to participate in Alabama Extension's BioBlitz, a hands-on, citizen science event to promote interest in local biodiversity. People will have the opportunity to work in the forest alongside scientists from Auburn University and the local area while discovering the diversity of insects, fish, fungi, plants, mammals, herpetofauna, birds and bats. The BioBlitz will be held at the Mary Olive Thomas Demonstration Forest located on Moore's Mill Road on Saturday, April 23, from 7 a.m.-9 p.m. This event is open to anyone who loves nature and learning about the natural world! All are invited to attend. The cost is $5 per person for all participants 10 years old and up. Registration is encouraged, but not required.
