The subject of this week's Take 5 on the university's homepage is Jared Russell, associate professor in the School of Kinesiology and director of student development in the College of Education. Russell has been named a 2016 Presidential Administrative Fellow at Auburn. This program will provide him senior administrative experience as a faculty member and will also provide him the opportunity to appreciate and understand higher education administration. Russell joined Auburn's School of Kinesiology faculty in 2002 and has been heavily involved in student recruitment, especially through the Future Scholars Summer Research Bridge Program, which Russell directs. His goal for the college is to graduate 10 minority doctoral students in 10 years, and he is well on his way toward fulfilling it. [Read more]
