The subject of this week's Take 5 on the Auburn University homepage is Hallie Nelson, a senior in biosystems engineering in the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering. A Birmingham native, Nelson has been an intern in the Office of Sustainability for two years. Her love for sustainability has driven her to not only become an active member in the sustainability community on campus, but also to become president of the student organization, the Campus Kitchens Project. Her minors in Sustainability Studies and Spanish have taken her all over the world, where she has learned about the natural world and how different cultures interact with it. For the past year, she has served as director of facilities for the Student Government Association in order to advocate for a campus-wide composting system. [Read more]
