Megan Good, Auburn’s Director of Academic Assessment, will facilitate the Biggio Center’s next Professional Development Seminar on Wednesday, Feb. 10 from 12:30-2 p.m. when she presents “A Simple Model for Learning Improvement: Weigh Pig, Feed Pig, Weigh Pig.” By itself, program assessment does little to impact student learning, much like weighing a pig will not cause it to fatten up. Although assessment is prevalent across the nation, evidence of improved student learning is rare. During this session, participants will better understand assessment’s role as it relates to evidencing learning improvement (i.e., assess, intervene, re-assess); articulate how evidence of learning improvement can benefit programs and collectively strategize about how Auburn University can be a leader in the emerging movement towards learning improvement.

The seminar will be in Foy Hall room 246. Those who wish to attend should register online. Contact the Biggio Center at 844-8560 or biggio1@auburn.edu with any questions.
