Kreher Preserve and Nature Center and Rita Kempf of the Auburn Birding Group will host a birding program on Feb. 13 at 10 a.m. Participants will learn about counting birds for the Great Backyard Bird Count, common winter birds found in the state of Alabama, ways to attract birds to a yard and bird watching tips. Participants are encouraged to become citizen scientists and help researchers gain a clearer picture of bird populations with the data they gather.

Proceeds from the program will be used to buy food for the preserve bird feeders. The cost to participate in the program is $4 for members and $5 for nonmembers. The center is located at 2222 N. College St. The program will be cancelled if the weather is severe. For more information, email or visit the website.
