“Getting Under the Surface,” or GUTS, is a science program for first- through sixth-grade children and their parents or grandparents. Each GUTS session includes a snack followed by a 90-minute, hands-on science activity involving a “Getting Under the Surface” theme. Two GUTS programs will be offered this spring, one on Tuesday, March 29, and the other on Monday, April 11. Both nights of science activities will take place from 6-8 p.m. The March event is “March Madness” themed and includes courses such as “Kooky Craniums” and “Mecha Madness.” The April program will focus on World Health Day and includes courses such as “Starch Wars: The Fork Awakens” and “Dangerous Decibels.” The cost to participate is $10 per adult/child pair.
