Social work is a practice-based profession and an academic discipline that promotes social change and development, social cohesion and the empowerment and liberation of people. Social work is also the name of the profession committed to the pursuit of social justice, to the enhancement of the quality of life and to the development of the full potential of each individual, family, group and community in society.
