Over the past four years, Auburn has celebrated many National Academic Advising Association Excellence in Advising Award winners at the regional and national level. The Office of Undergraduate Studies recently sponsored a NACADA consultant visit to campus to assist a representative workgroup in developing a comprehensive strategic plan for enhancing professional development opportunities for advisers. In February, this group traveled to Mesa, Arizona for the NACADA Advising Administrators' Institute where they established a two year implementation plan which will launch this summer with a New Adviser Orientation program. The implementation plan and syllabus for New Adviser Orientation will be shared at the March advising professional development session sponsored by the Exploratory Advising Center.
