Patty Marincic, an associate professor and program director of dietetics in the Department of Nutrition, Dietetics and Hospitality Management in Auburn’s College of Human Sciences, has been voted the Most Outstanding Dietitian for 2016 by the Alabama Dietetic Association. The award is the organization’s highest honor for a practicing clinician.

Marincic earned a bachelor’s degree in dietetics from Purdue University, a master’s degree in applied nutrition from Colorado State University and a doctorate in nutrition and food science from Utah State University.

Since joining the Auburn faculty in 2013, Marincic has worked to secure accreditation for the undergraduate dietetics program and develop a practice-based medical nutrition curriculum.

Her research interests include increasing patient access to nutrition services, particularly for diabetes and other chronic disease. Marincic is active in state and national public policy initiatives and sits on the Alabama Health Improvement Task Force.
