The subject of this week's Take 5 on the university's homepage is Beth Yarbrough, director of Student Services in the College of Science and Mathematics. A native of Birmingham, Alabama, Yarbrough is a three-time graduate of Auburn University. She received a bachelor's degree ('93,) and a master's degree in communication ('95) and a doctorate in educational psychology ('10). She also has a graduate certificate in academic advising from Kansas State University. Yarbrough is the director of student services for the College of Sciences and Mathematics. In 2014 she received the National Academic Advising Association's award for Excellence in Advising – Advising Administration Certificate of Merit, as well as the Region 4: Excellence in Advising – Advising Administration Award. She was named Outstanding Advising Administrator by Auburn University in 2013 and she received the Outstanding Advisor Award in 2002 from the National Academic Advising Association. In total, she and her team of academic advisors in the College of Sciences and Mathematics have received five national advising awards, two regional advising awards and four Auburn University advising awards.
