The second annual Career Expo, hosted by the East Alabama Workforce Investment Network, Inc., or EAWIN, will be held in the Beard-Eaves Memorial Coliseum on Jan. 26 and 27. The industry-led initiative will target more than 4,000 eighth graders in Bullock, Chambers, Lee, Macon, Russell, Tallapoosa, Elmore, Lowndes and Randolph counties.

Each student will receive an EAWIN Career discovery Student Guide, which will include information on sample occupations, educational requirements, average salaries and information on the event’s eleven career clusters. Each career cluster will point students to career opportunities in the area.

A College and Career Night will be held on Jan. 26 from 6 to 7:30 p.m, with more than 100 colleges, industries and businesses for juniors and seniors in high school.

EAWIN is a non-profit workforce development organization that serves as a point of contact for business, industry, and the public sector to identify solutions that address the workforce needs of the region.  EAWIN’s mission is to facilitate a workforce development system that educates, trains, and prepares a workforce to attain economic prosperity in the region.
