Applications are now being accepted for the LAUNCH Innovation Grants Program: an internal, competitive grant program designed to support proof-of-commercial concept research. The fund, an initiative of the Office of Vice President for Research and Economic Development, has a specific goal to advance the commercial potential of Auburn technologies and bring them closer to licensing, either to an existing company or to a proposed start-up company. The prize pool for the first competition is up to $100,000, which can be split and granted to one or more awardees. The application window closes on Monday, Feb. 8. Presentations by finalists and award announcements are scheduled for April 22, in conjunction with the Tiger Cage finale and other events hosted by the Harbert College of Business.
