The winner of the first Student Design League competition and designer of the first #AUshirt will be announced at 3 p.m., Friday, Nov. 13 in front of Langdon Hall.

The league is the result of a partnership between Auburn University’s College of Human Sciences, the Department of Consumer and Design Sciences and Robin Ruth, the leading fashion brand for travelers worldwide, as a way of challenging Auburn students in the Apparel Merchandising, Design and Production Management program to develop an Auburn-themed design for a T-shirt and hat.

Auburn is the first university to participate in the Student Design League with Robin Ruth.

More than 100 designs from 44 students were submitted for the competition. Representatives from Robin Ruth and Auburn narrowed the choices down to four, which were announced via social media on Nov. 1. The student who designs the winning #AUshirt will receive an internship at Robin Ruth’s NYC headquarters next summer.

On hand for the announcement will be Robin Ruth representatives, Aubie and softball coach Clint Myers, as well as faculty members and Auburn students studying apparel merchandising or apparel design and production management.

The Auburn Family had until noon on Nov. 8 to vote for their favorite student design. The design receiving the most votes will be the first #AUshirt and will be sold exclusively online at www.SDLproject.com.

For every #AUshirt sold, $5 will go to fund study abroad scholarships for Auburn fashion students.
