The Department of Geosciences is offering a course titled, “Panama Study Abroad – Culture, Environment and Climate Change.” There are no prerequisites to participate in the three-credit-hour program, which will take place during Spring Break 2016. While in Panama, participants will study the basic principles and processes that have molded local culture and environment, as well as explore methods for delaying and deterring the impacts of climate change. Students will receive training in remote sensing, GIS, infrared cameras and other related technological research tools. The cost of the trip is $1,500, plus airfare and personal expenses.
