Notice body

AU Mammogram Day is set for Wednesday, Dec. 16, from 7:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m at Auburn Diagnostic, located at 1527 Professional Parkway. The program is available for employees and spouses covered under the AU Blue Cross Blue Shield, or BCBS, insurance program. Participants must be 35 years or older and have never had a mammogram or have not had a mammogram in the last year. The program is not recommended for those who have implants.

Appointments are available on a first come, first served basis. Registration for appointments began on Monday, Nov. 16.  To make an appointment, call Colleen Alsobrook, East Alabama Medical Center breast health navigator, at 528-4370 and mention you are participating in the Auburn University Mammogram Day program. When making the appointment, have the following information available: BCBS contract number, date of birth, date of last mammogram, phone number and the policy holder’s name. Those who have already scheduled their yearly mammogram are encouraged to keep their appointment and allow these spaces to be used by those who are overdue.

Time off will be allowed for the initial exam and, if needed, the first round of additional testing.  If further testing is recommended, the employee will be required to use sick leave.  If the mammogram detects a possible problem and additional tests are required, employees will be required to pay the co-pay and deductibles related to the additional testing.

For any additional information, contact Jenny Swaim at 844-6404 or swaimje@auburn.edu
