The University Risk Management and Insurance Association, or URMIA, and Auburn University have announced the launch of a week dedicated to the value of risk management in higher education. “Risky Business: A Week Focusing on Risk Management’s Contributions to Higher Education” will take place from Nov. 2 until Nov. 6.

The week aims to build awareness of how risk management can provide innovative and effective solutions to the challenges facing institutions of higher education in the pursuit of their academic, social and economic goals. Featuring a week-long webinar series, the goal of this week is to create a forum for non-risk managers to learn about the importance of common risks on college and university campuses, and what non-risk managers can do to advance effective risk practices on their campuses. Auburn’s Risk Management and Safety Department will host lunch-and-learn sessions during these webinars with an open forum for discussion afterward.

If you would like to attend any of these on-campus sessions, email . For more information on the topics being presented and a schedule of events, visit the event website.
