On Wednesday, Oct. 21, the Osher Lifelong Institute, or OLLI, at Auburn University will present a Brown Bag lunch featuring Phil Owen, director of operations for enerGies Inc., a Huntsville company responsible for developing, implementing and conducting all Unmanned Aircraft Systems, or UAS, training and operations.

Auburn University’s Aviation Center has recently been granted the nation’s first Federal Aviation Administration approval to operate a new UAS Flight School. Drones, as they are commonly called, are believed to be a vital part of the nation’s commerce and research, particularly in engineering, building science and agriculture.

The Brown Bag begins at noon at the Clarion Inn and Suites, 1577 S. College St. The public is invited to attend. Please bring your own lunch. For more information, contact Linda Shook, OLLI director, at 844-5100, or visit OLLI at Auburn’s website.
