The staff of the Davis Arboretum is hosting a workshop on native azaleas from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. in 112 Rouse on Thursday, Oct. 22. Patrick Thompson, Davis Arboretum specialist and president of the Alabamense Chapter of The Azalea Society of America, will give a presentation on the use of azaleas in landscape, focusing primarily on native azaleas of the southeastern U.S. Participants will receive tips on selection, planting and establishment of azaleas, as well as information on how to participate in the Arboretum’s pre-order only, fall plant sale, which will feature new azalea varieties that will be highlighted during the workshop.
