The subject of this week's Take 5 on the Auburn University homepage is Dr. Frank F. "Skip" Bartol, associate dean for research and graduate studies in the College of Veterinary Medicine. A native of Virginia, Bartol joined the Auburn University faculty in 1983. He received a B.S. degree from Virginia Tech, both M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Florida through the Interdisciplinary Reproductive Biology program, and advanced training in molecular biology as a visiting scientist in the Center for Animal Biotechnology at Texas A&M University. Bartol served as director of Auburn University's Cellular and Molecular Biosciences program from 2001 until his appointment as associate dean. He is also a professor in the college's Department of Anatomy, Physiology and Pharmacology and interim director of the Scott-Ritchey Research Center. He will present one of the Auburn Talks during the "This is Research: Faculty Symposium" Sept. 30 at The Hotel at Auburn University and Dixon Conference Center. [Read more]
