The subject of this week's Take 5 on the Auburn University homepage is Jim Floyd, Canine Performance Sciences, or CPS, program advisor in the College of Veterinary Medicine. After five years of service in the U.S. Army, Floyd graduated from veterinary school and entered private veterinary practice. Following an internship and residency in theriogenology at the University of Illinois, he served as Extension veterinarian and professor in the Department of Animal and Dairy Sciences at Auburn University and then as department chairman. He was later named professor and head of the Department of Farm Animal Health and Resource Management at North Carolina State University. Floyd retired in 2011 and returned to Auburn, where in 2012 he was named interim director of CPS. In 2015 he stepped down as director of the CPS Program, but continues to serve as a program advisor.
